Trip on the Lake Michigan Carferry Badger May 25, 2002
The series kicks off with a trip aboard the Carferry Badger May 24th with the actual round-trip to Manitowoc on Saturday, the 25th. The Badger is the last carferry operating on the lakes. Our crossing takes us from Ludington, MI. to Manitowoc, WI. The Lake Michigan Carferry has offered a special rate on the crossing and a stay in the "Badger Boatel" Friday night. Those staying onboard will be treated to limited tours of the pilot house and engine room of the last coal fired vessel on the Lakes.
The Lake Michigan Carferry has offered our group a special rate of $48 per person for the round-trip cruise (no auto) and $57 for the Boatel state room (2 single beds and includes a continental breakfast).
For those who wish to arrive from the west, your trip on the Badger will begin with the sailing from Manitowoc, WI. on Friday and an over night stay in the "Badger Boatel" Friday night. You will return with the group on Saturday morning.
