Manitowoc, WI by George Thompson

The Edward L. Ryerson built at Manitowoc Ship Building in 1960, when ready for trial run, was found to be land locked in the Manitowoc River.  The picture the stern up against the railroad bridge and the bow against the east dock making it impossible to line up for the bridge.  Fifty feet was excavated from the east dock to allow the boat to line up for passage through the bridge.
