5/31 - Historical Perspective - Tom Milton
I found a photo I took, probably in the late seventies. From the photo clues I think these two ships are in winter lay up at the old American Shipbuilding yards (AMSHIP) on the Calumet River in South Chicago, across from Rail-to-water transfer (now KCBX). I have identified one of the ships as the former John Boland. The other ship appears to be the Diamond Alkali.
