12/4 - In a snow storm the Canfornav ship Garganey went down the St. Lawrence River on her first round trip through the Great Lakes. She has a cargo of flax seed from Thunder Bay. - Ron Beaupre

Edward L. Ryerson backs out the Black River in Lorain, Ohio after unloading the last load of taconite at the Jonick Dock for the season.
