8/17 - The Edward L Ryerson downbound, in the Welland Canal - Brian Wroblewski, Jr

The Ryerson has exited the flight locks and is heading through the reach above the Homer St. Bridge.

Lined up for the center of the draw at Homer St., showing why she is considered by most to be the best looking thing to ever sail the lakes.

Close up of the forward superstructure and her classic 1950's era design.

Clear of the draw and slowly easing her way towards Lock 3.

The Ryerson entering Lock 3.

Close up of the rear side of the forward superstructure. Her guest lounge can be seen through the windows.

Looking down on the deck you can see that she uses up just about all the available space in the lock chamber. Note the freshly painted hatch covers.

This shot illustrates the fact that she was designed for the maximum size allowed through the Seaway at that time, filling the entire length of the locks.
