11/20 - Steamer Charles M. Beeghly sounding one last Steam Salute on the big aft Steam Tyfons on her last Detroit passage as a steamer. The Beeghly is scheduled to load for Indiana Harbor and then lay up for conversion to a diesel. The Steam horns on the Beeghly (originally Shenango II) were patterned after the Boyer and Snyder Jr.'s triple chambered steam whistles. They had a very unique throaty and often ugly sound which many boatnerds grew to enjoy over the years. - Michael Koprowicz
