Reserve Conversion 2007

The steamer Reserve arrived in Menominee on Aug. 1, 2007. The ship will be converted into a tug/barge unit at KK Integrated Logistics. The owner wished to have weekly up-date photos of the conversion project each Thursday for the company's records. Dick Lund will be providing weekly updates of the progress of the conversion. 9/14/2007 Update

9/6/2007 - Week Four and the cutting continues. Note that the rudder posts no longer has any hydraulic cylinders attached.


8/30/2007 - Cutting and removal is getting closer to the stack area.


8/23/2007 - A third week of cutting exposes more of inner stern area, including the steering gear.

8/16/2007 - The second week of cutting exposes the engine room and asbestos removal starts.


8/9/2007 - Cutting has started on the stern

8/1/2007 - Reserve arriving in Marinette/Menominee at the end of her career as a powered vessel - Dick Lund
