7am rush hour on the Calumet River. The Manistee, having just departed KCBX with a load of coal, waits for space at the NS-5 bridge as it passes the Corps of Engineers tug Racine pushing a work barge, the Melinda Brent pushing a tanker barge, with the pleasure craft "I'm Leavin' bringing up the rear.

Calm water approaching 95th St bridge, outbound for Lake Michigan.

Great early morning sun as she approaches the Ewing Ave (92nd St) bridge.

Under CN (EJE) bridge 710, en route to a meet with the waiting Arthur M. Anderson.

Heading out in Calumet Harbor. The Anderson has already spun and is starting to back down the Calumet River for KCBX.

The Arthur M. Anderson waits out the sunrise in a calm Calumet Harbor on Tuesday. She came from Gary, IN., and will head to KCBX for a load of coal once the Manistee clears.

Backing down the Calumet River at 92nd St.

Waiting short of 95th St bridge for rail traffic to clear on the NS ( four trains). While waiting for the NS, the Anderson used her side thrusters to work her way toward the North American Salt dock to make room for the KLT tug Morgan pushing three barges.

After about a 20 min wait the Anderson finally gets her turn at the NS bridge.
