Rt Hon Paul J Martin following Montrealais. Both ships had departed Hamilton earlier in the day. the Martin was being kept in port by the protesting steelworkers,  but when the Burlington lift bridge was raised for the departing Montrealais the Martin escaped the blockade by following behind.
