 Around 3 a.m. on Wednesday morning the bow of the Paul R. Tregurtha grounded on the edge of the navigation channel and her stern pivoted and grounded on the opposite side of the channel, completely blocking the approach to the Rock Cut in the Lower St. Marys River. |
 The "G" tugs Florida and Missouri were in 'stand-by mode' yesterday afternoon while plans for the freeing the vessel were being made. Around 1 a.m. they began pushing the stern back into the channel and had her free and afloat at 5:45 a.m. |
 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Survey Vessel B.W. Bufe had been working in the Rock Cut and arrived on scene to assist. |
 The B.W. Bufe tied off alongside the Tug Missouri to provide assistance. |
 The U.S. Coast Guard established a safety zone around the Paul R. Tregurtha to keep recreational boats at a safe distance. |
