4/27 - Recent Welland Canal Activity - Paul Beesley

Canadian Coast Guard Cutter Cape Providence upbound to take up her seasonal station.

These 47 foot cutters are used by both Canadian & US Coast Guards for Search & Rescue purposes.

I have been fortunate enough to sail on several of these, and to visit a US version in the Keweenaw Canal.

4/26 - Last Welland Canal Transit by Algomarine - Paul Beesley

On April 26th the Algomarine passed down the Welland Canal on her last trip before being scrapped.

Photos as she left Lock 2 and made her way to Lock 1.

She was carrying a final cargo of salt from Goderich.
