Tug Avenger 4 and barge at Thorold.

 

Crew preparing to tie up above Lock 7. There was some type of labour situation with not enough personnel to secure vessels in the locks resulting in delays.

A short time later Nadro's Molly M 1 follows with a McKeil barge.

 

Molly M 1 and barge would tie up behind Avenger 4 and the two tugs and barges would combine for a tandem lockage.

English River on her way to Lock 3.

 

Built in the Netherlands, Rock.it is registered in the Cayman Islands.  Room for ten guests and she has more than 3,000 horsepower.

Later in Lake Erie I noticed she was doing a modest 12.3 knots.

Rock.it and friends headed to the flight locks.

6/4 - Portland Maine - Paul Beesley

It is the new ferry running from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.

Andrew McAllister

Andrew McAllister escorts the Anette toward the berth.
Behind all the plastic boats is the tanker Aspin Spirit (156,000 tons and 900' long)disgorging oil into the Portland / Montreal pipeline.
