The South Channel officially closes in 2 days, but the USCG is asking that boats stop using it as of today so that the ice-bridge
to Bois Blanc can form.  The request is to use the route north of Bois Blanc and Round Island Passage.  Thus, no boats are 
expected in the South Channel for the next couple of months.
