CCG listing

I have served in the Canadian Coast Guard for over 35 years and proudly promote and represent the CCG.

There are many, many people in Canada who do not even know of the existence of the CCG, and many others who do not know what the CCG does.

This is my small attempt to promote an organization that I believe deserves much better publicity.

Ice strengthened navigation aids ships similar in size to the Tupper and Simon Fraser, but while the earlier ships were graceful and streamlined in appearance these two could only be described as stubby looking and had peculiar large funnels.

The Provo Wallis was much improved in appearance after being lengthened in 1990. She also had her derrick replaced with a Liebherr crane and a bow thruster added in the same refit.

The Bartlett served in Newfoundland and the Great Lakes, and is currently operated in Pacific Region, while the Provo Wallis has always been employed in Maritimes Region.
