Once the Samuel Risley had established
a track into Superior

the Sundew came out
with 2 laker Captains

to see what the conditions were.

Outbound it seemed to be not bad at all

as the Sundew moved easily
through the ice

allowing each of us to get
a good look at the other.

She moved right out to open water.

When the Sundew turned
to come back in

she got stuck.

Well and truly.

Nice looking ship.

All day long the bridge team works outside. Hardy people.

The Risley went out and turned around

so she could go by the Sundew

and try to get her moving.

It did not work.

The Risley backed down

toward the Sundew

which allows the Risley to flush ice from the side of the escort

but you have to get very close.

The bridge team and the 2 laker Captains. The laker fellows weren't dressed for the conditions.
