Ranger III
The National Park Service's, 165'-125 passenger, M/V RANGER III, provides 2.5 hour cruises' on the Keweenaw Waterway every Thursday evening at 6:00 PM from the second week in June to the second week in September. Programs are presented by Park rangers from Isle Royale National Park (Michigan's only National Park) and the Keweenaw National Historical Park in Calumet, Michigan. Cruises alternate every week, west and east, from downtown Houghton, out onto Lake Superior and then back. Cost is $12.50 adults and 5.00 for children under 12. Evening Cruises on board the Isle Royale Queen III: Two cruises offered on the same boat that ferries folks out to Isle Royale everyday. Two evening cruises: The Sunset Cruise which departs at 9PM and returns at 10:30PM. Heads out into the shipping lanes to "chase down" lakers as well as enjoy the majesty of a Lake Superior sunset.
