The bulk carrier Kaministiqua, recently aquired by the Algoma Central Corp., left lay up at Point Edward, ON, early afternoon Friday and headed downbound for Windsor. AIS shows she went to Sterling Fuels. This is her first trip since being bought by Algoma and the first one with the Algoma bear on her stack. Saturday she was back upbound on the St. Clair River and, after anchoring for several hours above Algonac for unknown reasons, went to Sarnia briefly and then departed upbound for Thunder Bay.
Also at Sarnia, the Robert S. Pierson’s stack has a scaffolding around it and the lower third has been painted black in preparation for getting Algoma colors. It did not appear there was any work being done on the Saginaw.
