Oakglen On Drydock for 5-Year Inspection

May 9, 2026

The Canada Steamship Lines bulk carrier Oakglen has arrived at Port Weller Drydock at Ontario Shipyards in St. Catharines, ON, for her scheduled 5-year inspection and maintenance period. These mandatory drydock inspections are an important part of a vessel’s operational life cycle, ensuring the ship continues to meet Transport Canada and classification society standards for safety, structural integrity and mechanical reliability. Typical work during a 5-year survey will include hull inspections, steel renewal, propulsion and rudder checks, machinery servicing, painting and more. She was assisted into the drydock by the tugs Jarrett M and Ecosse.
