NEAS purchases BBC Arizona to serve Canada’s far north
Montreal-based NEAS (Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc.) has acquired the saltwater general cargo vessel BBC Arizona (IMO 9501253), a frequent visitor to the Great Lakes, which has been renamed Sivumut. The 2010-built vessel will provide container services for customers across the Baffin, Kivalliq and Kitikmeot regions of Nunavut in Canada’s north. She is the fleet’s sixth vessel, joining Qamutik, Mitiq, Nunalik, Aujaq and Sinna. The vessels also trade on the Great Lakes and Seaway for Spliethoff in the off-season.
