PORT HURON, MI – U.S. Navy ship USS Cleveland (LCS-31), a Freedom-class littoral combat ship, was downbound at Port Huron on Friday. The new warship is transiting the Great Lakes from the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard in Marinette, WI, to Cleveland, OH, where she will be officially commissioned on May 16. After commissioning, she will make her way out of the Great Lakes to her homeport at Naval Station Mayport, in Jacksonville, FL.
