I wanted to grab a shot of the Algoma Bear loading petroleum coke at Midwest Energy, its first, and possibly last, visit there. While the Bear is new, the future of Midwest Energy is in doubt given coal shipments are expected to dry up in 2026 as Detroit Edison converts Belle River to natural gas with Monroe then receiving all of its coal by rail. I don't think the handful of petroleum coke shipments every year are enough to keep the facility operational, but I don't have any visibility to their future plans. Not only did we have an infrequent visit from the Sykes today, but also the newest laker (Algoma Bear) arrived with a load of oats from Thunder Bay to Elevator M in Superior's East End, similar to other very infrequent moves in recent years with Algoma vessels.
